An Honorary Doctorate is a distinguished academic recognition conferred by universities upon individuals who have demonstrated significant contributions in their professional field, leadership, or service to society. This recognition is awarded through a formal evaluation by the University Academic Council and does not require academic coursework.

The Honorary recognition typically includes:

  • Honoris Causa Doctorate Award
  • Academic Regalia (Gown & Cap)
  • Medal and Citation
  • Formal Convocation Participation

Please note that all nominations are subject to a structured academic review and approval process in accordance with university guidelines.

To proceed with the preliminary evaluation, we request you to kindly share your CV or LinkedIn profile. Following this, a coordination meeting is scheduled with the Academic Team as part of the nomination protocol prior to submission.

Recognition of Professional Achievement, Leadership and Community Contribution

  • Have you completed a two-year diploma, advanced diploma or bachelor-level qualification?
  • Do you have at least five years of professional, industry, business or community experience?
  • Have you held a supervisory, management, leadership or organisational responsibility?
  • Have you made a meaningful contribution to innovation, productivity, quality improvement, organisational development, wealth creation or community advancement?

American Management University recognises that significant knowledge, leadership capability and professional expertise can be developed through many years of education, employment, business ownership, industry practice and community service.

The Honorary Doctorate Recognition Program provides experienced professionals, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and community contributors with an opportunity to have their achievements formally evaluated. The assessment may consider:

  • Previous academic and professional qualifications
  • Length and level of industry experience
  • Leadership and supervisory responsibilities
  • Professional achievements and organisational contributions
  • Innovation, research, publications or knowledge development
  • Business, social or community impact
  • Awards, professional memberships and other evidence of distinction

Applicants are invited to submit their curriculum vitae, educational certificates, professional credentials and supporting evidence through the application form for an initial evaluation.

Following the assessment, eligible applicants may be considered for an honorary doctoral award in recognition of their distinguished professional achievements, leadership and contribution to their industry, organisation or community.

Important Information

An honorary doctorate is a recognition-based award and is different from an earned Doctor of Philosophy qualification completed through formal doctoral coursework, supervised research and examination. Applicants seeking an earned PhD should apply through the university's formal doctoral admissions pathway.
